Genya Shinazugawa is a unique and aggressive Demon Slayer who is the younger brother of the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and is haunted by a tragic past where their demon-turned mother killed most of their siblings. Unlike his comrades, Genya cannot master a traditional Breathing Style, forcing him to develop a distinct fighting method that includes wielding a double-barreled shotgun that fires Nichirin steel pellets alongside a Nichirin wakizashi (short sword). His most unusual ability is the capacity to temporarily gain the regenerative powers, strength, and heightened senses of a demon by consuming their flesh, which causes his appearance to change, giving him fangs and enhanced resilience.
